Veterinary Receptionist (Customer Service Representative)

Maryland Avenue Pet Hospital is looking for a FT/PT receptionist to join our team. We are looking for a passionate individual who has a love for animals and their owners. Because a receptionist is the clients first impression of our business, candidate must have a strong background in customer service and have excellent telephone and in-person communication skills. This position requires that you have a minimum of 2 years experience as a receptionist in the veterinary field as well as patience and a pleasant manner.

Receptionist Job Duties:

  • Smile and maintain a positive attitude
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments
  • Greet clients
  • Enter in new client information and verify existing clients
  • Check in patients for appointments
  • Checking in and out surgery and patients for drop off
  • Making follow-up calls to clients when indicated
  • File charts and prepare charts for following day appointments
  • Answering routine questions from clients and referring to technician or Doctor where needed
  • Maintain waiting room cleanliness
  • Maintain a list of tasks associated with reception area

Veterinary Technician:

Maryland Avenue Pet Hospital is a busy small animal practice in Saint Paul, we are a growing clinic looking to expand our services and our team. We are looking for an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join us. Our technicians are utilized in all aspects of the veterinary practice.

Required Skills:

- Client communication (answering phones, vaccine and preventative care education)

- Animal restraint

- Lab skills (blood draws, urinalysis, fecals, cytology)

- Placing IV catheters

- Preparation and induction of surgical patients

- Knowledge of anesthetic drugs

- Monitoring of anesthesia

- Perform dental cleanings

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
